and now it is time for Mr Bush to use any means available to funnel aid to those folks...nevermind the politics, use Canada as a conduit, is that a matter for the brain trust?, or should I be the Prez?...thanks for your compassion in posting, Ron...BC

BC,

I understand that China has refused USAID - I agree let's send it through Ottawa.

It is very sad.

WP,

I am sure that these people need all the support they can get - human and divine.

SammyJo,

it is said that we often don't appreciate our lives until we meet someone who is desparate straits like these people

I saw those same reports---what makes it even worse is that the place is virtually impossible to get aid to because of the damage & the fact that it's a "military state".....just awful stuff.

So many lives lost and destroyed. Kind of makes our gas price problems seem very insignificant doesn't it? Thank you for bringing this to the forefront of our minds so we can gather and unite our prayers.

Blessings,
PolarB ;)

Just by having indoor plumbing, clean water and central heating and cooling we are living a life of incredible luxury compared to most people on Earth.

Bry_M,

The Chinese are not letting us help! I have friends who were there about a year ago. They say the land is flat like a pancake - the wind and water just blow right in - and there is not stopping it or slowing it down - the death toll will be terrible

PolarB,

Yes, even our gas problems shrink in face of these kind of problems. Definitely a time for prayer!

Zoomer,

yes, we in America need a new perspective - we are among the most fortunate people in the world!

Definitely a day for gratitude.

Wow, Azron.... I hadn't heard that. How on earth do friends and family cope with that. What they must be struggling with is heart breaking.

Mackenzie,

I can't imagine what these people are dealing with - they struggle already with an oppressive dictatorship who is sold out to China. Now their lives are torn apart by this devastation.

Sometimes our complaints look very small.
