It always surprised me that June was so overshadowed by Loretta Lynn and others. She was just so adorable and she was the best thing that EVER happened to Johnny Cash.

Sherry,
June Carter was always credited by Johnny Cash and others for sobering Johnny up and keeping on track. She had a strong religious background from the Carter family.

What a nice tribute to your Mom! I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't really ever have an interest in June Carter Cash until I saw the movie "Walk the Line"....she was one pretty amazing lady to have stuck by Johnny Cash the way that she did!

Ron, Loved your post. I grew up listening to the Opry...June Carter was a rare comic talent and a gifted singer. The little "cowboy sweetheart" yodeler was fantastic.

I hope June got her day as a mom. I loved what you did with the videos. I remember them, as only yesterday past. Your mom sounds like mine, in the way that they wanted to keep it pure.
I hope this was a good day for all of you. There are many blessings in the way you treat a person.

Cuddle,
You will have to ask June how her day went
Church in the morning; then she has her little chaplaincy job at the retirement community (I went along), then dinner with friends whose son lives at the southend of the state and didn't come home for the weekend.

Wow I'm embarrassed to say I think this is the first time I have ever seen June Carter and haven't heard yodeling like that since the Sound of Music. Thanks, a great music tribute to your Mom.
