 Receiving God's invitation to friendship
Back to Full Blog

"God wants us to talk to him. I think many times people just think of God as this spirit who floats around and does not really understand us. He understands us more than we understand ourself. He truly knows the human heart and human sadness."

The above quote comes from fellow blogstream blogger, Summerrayne, in response to my last blog.

Here is my interpretation of the same idea which I have used for many years:

"There is a God who knows you perfectly, and chooses to love you perfectly."

There is an old bumper sticker that said, "If you knew me, you wouldn't love me."

God KNOWS you and God STILL loves you!!!

I don't know many human beings who are making that kind of offer of unconditional love and acceptance.

This is so true, I am glad somebody understands the path i chose to walk now. It is so hard but I know I am serving a great God.

Amen - AzRon! And when we do love people for who they are and not what they are many, incuding the person themself, thinks that there is something wrong with us - and many use the expression - 'they will get over it once they realize what the person is like.' Seems to me Jesus did not let people get to Him and come to think of it He wants us to be like Him - June

Hi Ron, I think I may be missing the interpretation. God knows me before I know myself. When I have a need, He fills the void but not always with what I want. He always provides, when there is a little sun, God gives great warmth.

I know that bumper sticker, I could stick it to my forehead. The truth of the matter is, if you think you know me, you are wrong. The people that know me had to go a long way to find me. This is no different than God, not putting myself anywhere near that realm, however, if you love you learn. My friends found me and I them, only by love. Kind of a strange change for most people but I don't really have friends, I have family through God. I know, a bit odd.

It was just a thought.

Keep the Faith~ Cuddle

June,

People of do say that if you get to know me you won't be so fond of me - God knows us from the foundation of the world and he loves us with a perfect love.

Cuddle,

you wrote: "God knows me before I know myself. When I have a need, He fills the void but not always with what I want. He always provides, when there is a little sun, God gives great warmth."

I have no argument with this observation. I agree totally.

You also wrote: "The people that know me had to go a long way to find me. This is no different than God, not putting myself anywhere near that realm, however, if you love you learn. My friends found me and I them, only by love. Kind of a strange change for most people but I don't really have friends, I have family through God. I know, a bit odd."

C, in my mind, this appears to contradict your earlier statement. I don't think I understand what you are saying in this part of your comment. Can you help me?

Ron,

I will try to help you see the difference. My second statement is no different than reading the Bible. Someone picks up a book, reads the words and pretends to know the author. They never look beyond the bindings to know the real person. A passionate person desire to know the real author, therefore not only knowing the author but the inner self they are to be.

Sorry Ron, I was going to keep it simple. Surface life is shallow, to know a person you have to be a part of that life. God is not a part of our world, we are a part of His, therefore we must leave ourselves behind and embrace His offerings.

Did I explain okay? I can try again.

It's wonderful to be loved unconditional, and only God can do it.

With age, I've gotten better, but God has allowed me to see people like he does from time to time, and I appreciate it very much. Being critical of others is a bad thing. He's taught me better! Are'nt we blessed by having him?

Loved the post. Heide

Very true Ron. God knows us inside out and still he does not turn away from us whereas man usually does. I think the only exception in my life is my Lovie who loves me anyway in spite of my faults.

Hope you are having a blessed day!

"We are dead, yet we live"

Laleopop'

This is the wonderful christian truth of death of our old way of living and rising to new life in Christ it a new way of living....

we are not prisoners of our past, we can be set free to live new lives of freedom!

thanks for visiting

Heide,

You can't buy unconditional love - it is a gift that only a God who is perfect in all his ways could offer -

bask in it today, friend

Cuddle40, you wrote, "God is not a part of our world, we are a part of His, therefore we must leave ourselves behind and embrace His offerings."

we could have long discussion about this sentence

I think leaving 'ourselves behind' is about abandoning our wills to his. Jesus prayed, "Not my will but yours be done". I think this is the model of self-surrender that we all who follow the Christ seek after.

Ron, I think we could have a long discussion about alot of issues, however I like this one.

"God is not a part of our world, we are a part of His, therefore we must leave ourselves behind and embrace His offerings."

If I am not mistaken, God made the world and all that is in it for humankind, however He did this so that we would praise His glory. We, leaving our earthly body behind, embracing a life beyond the planet and it's needs to control.

I guess when all is said and done we see this the same way with different words.?

I really like what you have to say and how you view situations. I do have another thought if you are up to it. God is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. Why do we consider God male when God is all encompassing and we were made in God's image? I understand that woman was made from man, however we are not the same. I think God meant more from the scriptures that most care to see. This is a debate you can win because I have no answers, only questions.

Have a great day.~ Cuddle

Ahhh! yes, All the more proof that he loves you..if he didn't he wouldn't care if you spent time with him or not. Fetching is a behavior that reinforces his devoution to you. you throw and he retrieves FOR YOU!
